We laid our bodies to rest in the Pacific
Mangled, swept across the currents
Fodder for the ocean floor
A final mass amidst an ever-burning oil slick
A communion for the sharks now closing in

We were buried in the sky, falling to destiny
Our shredded limbs came raining down
Showering a foreign soil
Left to rot in the fields and in the canopies
We never heard the call of Gabriel’s horn arrive

Some lived for days, some lived for weeks, some lived for moments
Before bleeding out or being burned alive
Never to see the faces of our unborn daughters
Just granted one last lonely frightened unheard cry

And this is what you gave us as a tribute:
